Just thought I would give all the vinyl toy and art lovers a heads up!
Toy2R has generously offered to give a massive prize package to two
lucky ToyCyte readers.
The bounty includes over $700 of Toy2R
merchandise!
I should really be concentrated on some nice vinyl toys I want, but it's hard to stop buying these crazy little action figures. Meh. One day. I bought some more McFarlane figures. No, I don't know what's wrong with me. It must be part of the sickness. However, they are both very cool and go great with pieces I already have and thoroughly enjoy. The first is the Collector's Club Necroplasm Spawn. It's a translucent green version of the super articulated 10th anniversary Spawn from a few years back. The only problem, the cape is still red. The original Necroplasm Spawn (way, way back) had a black cape and looked much better. With a little paint I plan to correct that problem.
The other figure was the Collectors Club companion piece for the Adventures of Spawn (Spawn series 30) , Lord Mammon. I love the animated take on Spawn. It's a nice change from the hyper realistic approach they've used for so long. Mammon got alternate demon hands and head, but he looks so much creepier in his human form I'll leave him that way. The two demons he comes with are great too and I can't wait to get more of them with the next batch of this animated style Spawns.
Then I bought the latest animated Hellboy cartoon "Blood and Iron". I picked it up at Best Buy because it came with an exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming Gentle Giant Hellboy Animated toys. The movie is great. There was nothing wrong with the first animated feature "Sword of Storms" but this one is even better. I'm hoping there is a third. The toy is great, and since I only have a few Hellboy toys already (20 something, including the 18" figures, prototypes, movie and comic toys) I couldn't help but get anther. I'll take a group shot one day when I finally get the toy room back in order. Anyway, the animated Hellboy figure is a great sculpt, well articulated and comes with a stand because there is no way it could stand on it's own with the tiny little feet Hellboy has in the cartoon.
Here are some of the Movie and Comic Hellboys as well. The first Hellboy figure by Big Blast, the comic Hellboy by Mezco and the movie Hellboy also by Mezco. Toss in a few mini Hellboys, Mez-Itz, Bust-Ups, Qees, movie variations and the upcoming 8" Qees and at least there is plenty of variety in my Hellboy toys. Then of course there is the supporting cast, but we'll save those for another day too.
Dark Horse Comics has announced a HELLBOY 8" QEE coming in August.
Based on Mike Mignola’s comic Hellboy.
As a follow-up to the 2.5 inch Hellboy Qee. Dark Horse brings you the 8 inch Hellboy Qee. (edition of 1,500) $79.99 (pictured below)
Mike Mignola was asked by Dark Horse to pick an artist to design the
Tara McPherson! Tara was happy to comply, and has designed a unique
version of Hellboy all her own!
Tara McPherson variant Hellboy Qee. (edition of 450) $79.99. (no picture yet, I'll post it as soon as it's available)
WOW! I can't wait to see Tara's version!
